Eight pre-sale consents issued in the second quarter of 2004

The Lands Department issued a total of eight consents for the sale of residential units in uncompleted developments between April and June 2004. The department also issued one consent to assign in this period, in respect of commercial units. All were issued within the department's performance target time limit.

A Lands Department spokesman said today (July 7) that the eight consents involved 5,976 residential units located in various districts of Hong Kong. One of these developments comprising 1,616 residential units was completed on June 30, 2004, and another development comprising 48 residential units is estimated to be completed by September 30, 2004. Four developments comprising a total of 3,801 residential units are estimated to be completed within 2005, and the remaining two with 511 residential units before April, 2006.

The department issued four consents for the sale of 2,579 residential units in four uncompleted developments in June 2004. Three of these developments are located on Hong Kong Island and one in North District. One of these developments is estimated to be completed in September 2004, and another one in October 2005. The remaining two developments are estimated to be completed by April 2006.

As at the end of June 2004, one application for consent to sell commercial development, and 14 for residential developments involving a total of 8,082 residential units located in various districts of Hong Kong, were pending approval. Three of the residential developments involving 1,657 residential units are expected to be completed within 2004, eight involving 4,468 residential units within 2005, and the remaining three involving 1,957 residential units before February, 2006. There were also three applications pending approval for consent to assign, two in respect of commercial developments and one residential development comprising 2,010 units.

Members of the public may obtain up-to-date information on consents to sell residential units in uncompleted developments issued for the last six months and cases pending approval as at the end of June 2004 by dialling the hotline 2147 5475 or browsing the Lands Department website at www.info.gov.hk/landsd/.

The names of the developer, its parent company (if any), its solicitors, authorised person (including the name of the firm) and the mortgagee bank (if any) in respect of individual developments are also available to the public in the form of reports obtainable through the fax-on-demand facilities of the hotline or the Lands Department website.
