Ten pre-sale consents issued in the first quarter of 2003

The Lands Department issued a total of eight consents for the sale of residential units in uncompleted developments between January and March 2003. All of them were issued within the Department's performance target time limit.

A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (April 9) that these consents involved the sale of 4,380 residential units in various districts of the SAR. Three of these developments comprising 708 units are estimated to be completed in 2003 and the remaining five in 2004.

Two pre-sale consents for the sale of commercial units in Kwai Chung and Yuen Long were also issued.

As at March 31, 2003, a total of 19 applications for pre-sale consent involving 9,839 residential units in various parts of Hong Kong were pending approval. Of these 19 developments, five are estimated to be completed in 2003 comprising 1,915 units and the remaining 14 in 2004.

As at the end of March 2003, three applications for pre-sale consent involving commercial units were pending approval.

Members of the public may obtain up-to-date information on consents to sell residential units in uncompleted developments issued for the last six months and cases pending approval by dialling the hotline 2147 5475 or visiting the Lands Department Website at www.info.gov.hk/landsd/.
