Following is the transcript of a media session given by the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joseph W P Wong, today (January 13) after meeting with the staff side representatives of the Departmental Consultative Committees:

Reporter: Will the second round of voluntary retirement scheme be extended to managerial level positions?

Secretary: The second round voluntary retirement scheme is open for consideration in all grades. It will be up to the heads of departments and heads of grades to consider within the grades, whether senior ranks should also be included. I have a feeling that managerial positions will be considered in certain grades.
