Revised Master Schedule of Notes to Statutory Plans, Definition of Terms Used in Statutory Plan and Broad Use Terms (April 2024)

The Town Planning Board (TPB) on 12 April 2024 promulgated the revised Master Schedule of Notes to Statutory Plans (MSN), Definition of Terms used in Statutory Plan (DoT) and Broad Use Terms (BUT), which take immediate effect.  The major revisions are as follows:

 

MSN

For “Village Type Development” zone, ‘Public Convenience’ and ‘Government Refuse Collection Centre’ have been moved from Column 2 to Column 1 to streamline the development process. ‘Field Study/Education/Visitor Centre’ is included as Column 2 use to enable such use, where appropriate, through planning application.  

 

DoT and BUT

In view of the newly-emerged uses and to streamline the planning application process, achieve better comprehension and reflect the latest planning circumstances, amendments have been made to the Definition and/or Remarks of DoT for the following terms:

-       ‘Agricultural Use’

-       ‘Computer/Data Processing Centre’ (also renamed as ‘Data Processing Centre’)

-       ‘Government Refuse Collection Point’

-       ‘Laboratory, Inspection and Testing Centre’

-       ‘Local Public Works’

-       ‘Mine and Quarry’ (also renamed as ‘Quarry’)

-       ‘Open Space’

-       ‘Petrol Filling Station’ (also renamed as ‘Petrol Filling Station/Green Fuel Station’)

-       ‘Public Utility Installation’

-       ‘Public Utility Pipeline’

-       ‘Public Vehicle Park (excluding container vehicle)’

-       ‘Public Convenience’

-       ‘Research, Design and Development Centre’

 

Relevant terms in BUT have been amended consequentially in accordance with the revised DoT.  Some obsolete terms in the Remarks of DoT and subsumed use terms of BUT are also deleted.

 

Revision to individual Outline Zoning Plans will be made to incorporate the revised MSN and DoT, as appropriate, when opportunity arises.
