CANCELLING OF TC SIGNALS (URGENT)


 
TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN
 
HERE IS THE LATEST TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN ISSUED
BY THE HONG KONG OBSERVATORY.
 
ALL SIGNALS WERE CANCELLED AT 12:10 P.M.
 
AT NOON, TYPHOON KAJIKI WAS CENTRED ABOUT 660 KILOMETRES
SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF HONG KONG (NEAR 17.3 DEGREES NORTH 110.7
DEGREES EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST AT ABOUT 18
KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE SEAS SOUTH OF HAINAN ISLAND.


 
UNDER THE COMBINED EFFECT OF A RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE OVER
SOUTHEASTERN CHINA AND KAJIKI, LOCAL WINDS WILL BE STRONG
OFFSHORE AND ON HIGH GROUND AT FIRST. A FEW SHOWERS AND
ISOLATED SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TODAY. THERE
WILL BE SWELLS. MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC ARE ADVISED TO STAY
AWAY FROM THE SHORELINE AND NOT TO ENGAGE IN WATER SPORTS.
