HERE IS THE LATEST TROPICAL CYCLONE WARNING BULLETIN ISSUED
BY THE HONG KONG OBSERVATORY.
 
THE STANDBY SIGNAL, NO. 1 IS IN FORCE.
 
THIS MEANS THAT TWO TROPICAL CYCLONES NOW CENTRED WITHIN
ABOUT 800 KILOMETRES OF HONG KONG MAY AFFECT US.
 
AT 1 P.M., THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION OVER THE CENTRAL PART OF
THE SOUTH CHINA SEA WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT 760
KILOMETRES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF HONG KONG (NEAR 15.8 DEGREES
NORTH 112.0 DEGREES EAST) AND IS FORECAST TO BE SLOW-MOVING
AT FIRST, AND THEN MOVE NORTH-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 10
KILOMETRES PER HOUR TOWARDS THE VICINITY OF HAINAN ISLAND.
MEANWHILE, THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION NEAR THE TAIWAN STRAIT
WAS ESTIMATED TO BE ABOUT 590 KILOMETRES EAST OF HONG KONG
(NEAR 23.4 DEGREES NORTH 119.8 DEGREES EAST) AND IS
FORECAST TO MOVE NORTH-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 18 KILOMETRES PER
HOUR IN THE GENERAL DIRECTION OF THE COAST OF SOUTHEASTERN
CHINA.
