LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.


 
A SOUTHWESTERLY AIRSTREAM IS BRINGING SHOWERS TO THE
NORTHERN PART OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA. BESIDES, UNSETTLED
WEATHER ASSOCIATED WITH AN UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE IS
AFFECTING THE NORTHERN PART OF SOUTHERN CHINA. THE
UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE SOUTH CHINA
COAST LATER TODAY.


 
AT 10 A.M., SEVERE TYPHOON BAVI WAS CENTRED ABOUT 220
KILOMETRES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF JEJU. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
NORTH AT ABOUT 30 KILOMETRES PER HOUR AND ENTER THE YELLOW
SEA.


 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TODAY


 
VERY HOT WITH SUNNY INTERVALS AND A FEW SHOWERS. SHOWERS
WILL INCREASE GRADUALLY DURING THE DAY AND THERE WILL BE A
FEW SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS. MODERATE SOUTHWESTERLY WINDS,
OCCASIONALLY FRESH OFFSHORE.


 
OUTLOOK : HEAVY SHOWERS AND A FEW SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS AT
FIRST TOMORROW. FEWER SHOWERS DURING THE DAY. VERY HOT WITH
SUNNY PERIODS IN THE FOLLOWING FEW DAYS, BUT THERE WILL
STILL BE ONE OR TWO SHOWERS.
