AT 2 P.M. AT THE HONG KONG OBSERVATORY THE AIR TEMPERATURE
WAS 32 DEGREES CELSIUS AND THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY 67 PER
CENT.
DURING THE PAST HOUR THE MEAN UV INDEX RECORDED AT KING'S
PARK WAS 9. THE INTENSITY OF UV RADIATION WAS VERY HIGH.
 
AN AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS BRINGING UNSETTLED WEATHER TO
THE CENTRAL AND NORTHERN PARTS OF THE SOUTH CHINA SEA. IT
IS EXPECTED TO MOVE SLOWLY TOWARDS HAINAN ISLAND IN THE
NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. ITS DIRECT THREAT TO HONG KONG IS LOW.
HOT WEATHER MIGHT CAUSE ADVERSE HEALTH EFFECTS. THE
OBSERVATORY ADVISES THE PUBLIC TO STAY ON THE ALERT.
