LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
 
GENERAL SITUATION

AN UPPER-AIR DISTURBANCE BROUGHT THUNDERY SHOWERS TO THE
COAST OF GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT WAS CLOUDY WITH
SHOWERS. THERE WERE ISOLATED SQUALLY THUNDERSTORMS IN THE
AFTERNOON. MORE THAN 10 MILLIMETRES OF RAINFALL WERE
RECORDED OVER MANY PLACES. A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE IS
EXPECTED TO EDGE CLOSER TO SOUTH CHINA COAST TODAY AND
TOMORROW AND WILL BRING SHOWERS TO THE REGION.
 
BESIDES, THE AREA OF LOW PRESSURE OVER THE SEAS EAST OF THE
PHILIPPINES INTENSIFIED INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION
YESTERDAY MORNING. AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT, THE TROPICAL
DEPRESSION WAS CENTRED ABOUT 470 KILOMETRES NORTHWEST OF
YAP. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 16
KILOMETRES PER HOUR ACROSS THE WESTERN NORTH PACIFIC.
 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
 
MAINLY CLOUDY WITH A FEW SHOWERS. COASTAL FOG IN THE
MORNING AND AT NIGHT. THERE WILL BE ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS
LATER. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 23 AND 27 DEGREES.
MODERATE EAST TO SOUTHEASTERLY WINDS, OCCASIONALLY FRESH AT
FIRST.
 
OUTLOOK : STILL SHOWERY ON THURSDAY. THE WEATHER WILL
IMPROVE IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS.
