LOCAL WEATHER FORECAST

HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
 
AN INTENSE RAIN BAND IS AFFECTING THE VICINITY OF THE PEARL
RIVER ESTUARY. LOCALLY, MORE THAN 100 MILLIMETRES OF
RAINFALL WERE RECORDED OVER MOST PARTS OF THE TERRITORY IN
THE AFTERNOON, RAINFALL EVEN EXCEEDED 150 MILLIMETRES OVER
URBAN AREAS, SHA TIN, KWAI TSING AND TAI PO.
 
AT 4 P.M., SUPER TYPHOON HAIMA WAS CENTRED ABOUT 440
KILOMETRES NORTHEAST OF MANILA. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
WEST-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 28 KILOMETRES PER HOUR TOWARDS THE
NORTHERN PART OF LUZON.
 
MEANWHILE, TROPICAL STORM SARIKA WAS CENTRED ABOUT 120
KILOMETRES SOUTH OF NANNING. IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE
NORTH-NORTHWEST AT ABOUT 10 KILOMETRES PER HOUR INTO INLAND
GUANGXI.
 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR TONIGHT AND TOMORROW
 
CLOUDY WITH SQUALLY SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. SHOWERS WILL
BE HEAVY AT FIRST. SHOWERS WILL EASE OFF OVERNIGHT. SUNNY
PERIODS TOMORROW. TEMPERATURES WILL RANGE BETWEEN 25 AND 31
DEGREES. MODERATE EAST TO NORTHEASTERLY WINDS, FRESH LATER
TOMORROW AND THERE WILL BE SWELLS.
