HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
 
GENERAL SITUATION

AN UPPER-AIR ANTICYCLONE CONTINUED TO BRING GENERALLY FINE
WEATHER TO THE COAST OF GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT
WAS FINE AND VERY HOT. TEMPERATURES GENERALLY ROSE TO ABOVE
33 DEGREES OVER THE TERRITORY IN THE AFTERNOON. A BROAD
TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE WILL BRING SHOWERS TO GUANGDONG OVER
THE WEEKEND.
 
AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT, SEVERE TYPHOON LIONROCK WAS CENTRED
ABOUT 440 KILOMETRES SOUTHEAST OF OKINAWA. IT IS FORECAST
TO MOVE SLOWLY, LINGERING OVER THE SEAS EAST OF THE RYUKYU
ISLANDS.
 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
 
MAINLY FINE AT FIRST. SUNNY PERIODS WITH SOME HAZE DURING
THE DAY. VERY HOT WITH TEMPERATURES RANGING BETWEEN 27 AND
33 DEGREES. A FEW SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS LATER. LIGHT TO
MODERATE NORTHWESTERLY WINDS.
 
OUTLOOK : MORE SHOWERY IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS.
MAINLY FINE ON COMING MONDAY AND TUESDAY WITH SLIGHTLY
LOWER MORNING TEMPERATURES.
