HERE IS THE LATEST WEATHER BULLETIN ISSUED BY THE HONG KONG
OBSERVATORY.
 
GENERAL SITUATION

THE UPPER-AIR ANTICYCLONE BROUGHT GENERALLY FINE WEATHER TO
THE COAST OF GUANGDONG YESTERDAY. LOCALLY, IT WAS MAINLY
FINE AND VERY HOT. TEMPERATURES OVER MOST PARTS OF THE
TERRITORY ROSE TO 33 DEGREES OR ABOVE IN THE AFTERNOON.
UNDER THE DOMINANCE OF THE UPPER-AIR ANTICYCLONE, THE
WEATHER WILL CONTINUE TO BE FINE AND VERY HOT OVER SOUTHERN
CHINA TODAY AND TOMORROW.
 
BESIDES, TROPICAL STORM LIONROCK INTENSIFIED INTO A SEVERE
TROPICAL STORM YESTERDAY MORNING. AT 11 P.M. LAST NIGHT,
LIONROCK WAS CENTRED ABOUT 620 KILOMETRES EAST OF OKINAWA.
IT IS FORECAST TO MOVE SOUTH SLOWLY, LINGERING OVER THE
SEAS EAST OF THE RYUKYU ISLANDS.
 
WEATHER FORECAST FOR HONG KONG
 
MAINLY FINE. THE MINIMUM TEMPERATURE WILL BE ABOUT 28
DEGREES. VERY HOT DURING THE DAY WITH A MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE
OF AROUND 33 DEGREES IN THE URBAN AREAS, AND A COUPLE OF
DEGREES HIGHER IN THE NEW TERRITORIES. THERE WILL BE ONE OR
TWO ISOLATED SHOWERS LATER. LIGHT WINDS.
 
OUTLOOK : MAINLY FINE AND VERY HOT ON THURSDAY. A FEW
SHOWERS IN THE FOLLOWING COUPLE OF DAYS.
