Argentina grants visa-free access for HK visitors Hong Kong and Argentina today (January 14) signed an Agreement on the Abolition of Visa Requirements allowing immediate visa-free access for travellers from both destinations. The agreement provides visa-free access to Argentina for Hong Kong SAR passport holders for up to 90 days. At the same time, nationals of Argentina will enjoy 90 days visa-free access to Hong Kong. "We warmly welcome the signing of the agreement, which means greater convenience for Hong Kong travellers and helps promote trade, business and tourism links between Hong Kong and the Argentine Republic," said the Director of Immigration, Mr Lai Tung-kwok. Mr Lai signed the agreement on behalf of the Hong Kong government, while the Consul General of Argentina, Mr Ricardo H Forrester, signed for the Argentinean government. Argentina is the 127th country to grant visa-free access to HKSAR passport holders. Ends/Wednesday, January 14, 2004 |
