Received by officials of the Dongguan Municipal Government, the delegation visited the XbotPark Robotics Base at Songshan Lake. Delegates were briefed by local officials on the development of AI and low-altitude economy industries in Dongguan, and experienced on-site a number of innovative technological products developed by the incubated enterprises on the Base.
The delegation then visited the Huawei Town in Songshan Lake, and toured the Huawei Sanyapo Library and the Enterprise Business Descartes Exhibition Hall to gain an understanding of the company's achievements in various aspects of technological research and development as well as the corporate culture of technological innovation. The delegates also had a thematic exchange session with representatives of the company to discuss the application of AI technology and data security governance in smart retail.
The delegation was led by the SMEC Chairman, Mr Emil Yu, and the Director-General of Trade and Industry, Mr Aaron Liu, and accompanied by representatives of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Promotion Centre. The delegation comprised around 50 participants, including members of the SMEC, the Programme Management Committee of the Dedicated Fund on Branding, Upgrading and Domestic Sales and the Vetting Committee of the Trade and Industrial Organisation Support Fund under the TID, as well as representatives of Hong Kong's major trade and industrial organisations and SME associations.
