The following is issued on behalf of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority:

The main session of the Global Financial Leaders' Investment Summit (the Summit), organised by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), successfully concluded today (November 3). The event brought together approximately 280 global financial leaders, including around 120 group Chairpersons and chief executive officers.

The theme of this year is "Rethinking the Playbook". Vice Premier of the State Council Mr He Lifeng delivered an opening keynote at the Main Summit by video. Discussions followed on key macroeconomic trends, financial market shifts, and technological advances that are shaping emerging opportunities and risks across various sectors, asset classes, and geographies. The various panels collectively rethink whether the financial playbook needs a major update to live in a world where risk is a constant and resilience a necessity that cannot be taken for granted.

The Chief Executive of the HKMA, Mr Eddie Yue, said, "This marks the fifth consecutive year of the Summit, serving as a platform to foster global financial leader's high-level dialogues and deepen ties across the global financial community. Participants gets to experience first-hand how Hong Kong is re-thinking its playbook to transform the economy through innovation and technology, and how it continues to strengthen its position as an international financial centre."

The event attracted global financial leaders across a wide range of sectors, including banks, securities firms, asset owners, asset managers, private equity and venture capital firms, hedge funds and insurers. The event was also live-streamed; the replay is available on the HKMA's website.

Commencing yesterday (November 2) with a welcome dinner at The Henderson, the three-day Summit will conclude tomorrow (November 4) with the "Conversations with Global Investors" investment forum co-organised by the HKMA, the Securities and Futures Commission and the Hong Kong Academy of Finance. Details can be found in Summit Programme.
