
Police today (October 2) appealed to the public for information on a fatal traffic accident in Western District yesterday (October 1) in which a man died.
Police received a report at about 10.31pm yesterday, a private car driven by a man was travelling along Mount Davis Path towards Victoria Road. When approaching the junction of Victoria Road and Mount Davis Path, it reportedly collided with a motorcycle driven by another man travelling along Victoria Road southbound.
Sustaining serious head injury, the 63-year-old male motorcyclist was rushed to Queen Mary Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 9.46am today (October 2).
The 50-year-old male private car driver, who is an off-duty auxiliary police officer, was arrested for dangerous driving causing death. He has been released on bail pending further enquiries and is required to report back to Police in early November.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island is underway.
