FS announces reappointment of Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited
******************************************************************************************
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hong Kong Investment Corporation Limited (HKIC) and Financial Secretary, Mr Paul Chan, announced today (October 2) that the HKIC Board of Directors had approved the reappointment of Ms Clara Chan as the Chief Executive Officer of the HKIC for a term of three years with effect from October 9, 2026.

Mr Chan said, "Since taking office as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of the HKIC in 2023, Clara has led the team in harnessing the catalytic power of 'patient capital' to mobilise capital and partners from Hong Kong, the Chinese Mainland and international markets to support the development of Hong Kong's strategic industries. She has also helped Hong Kong and Chinese Mainland companies expand into international markets through Hong Kong. The HKIC has achieved reasonable investment returns, and its achievements are widely recognised.

"To date, the HKIC has invested in over 200 companies. Of these, 11 portfolio companies are already listed in Hong Kong, while more than 30 have submitted or plan to submit listing applications in Hong Kong this year. Every Hong Kong dollar invested by the HKIC has attracted more than eight Hong Kong dollars in international long-term market capital. Approximately 70 per cent of its portfolio companies based in Hong Kong and the Chinese Mainland have established or are expanding their overseas operations.

"I look forward to Clara's continued leadership of the HKIC over the next three years, contributing to the growth of Hong Kong's financial sector, innovation and technology sector and emerging industries, while supporting the development of the Northern Metropolis and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area."
