The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority.

     ​The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointments today (September 24):
      
      Dr Alastair Mah will be appointed as Director (Quality & Safety) of the HA with effect from October 1. The current incumbent, Dr Michael Wong, will take up the post of Cluster Chief Executive of Kowloon West Cluster (KWC) and Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Princess Margaret Hospital and North Lantau Hospital Designate with effect from the same date.
      
     Dr Mah is a Fellow of the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine and the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators. Dr Mah has ample health leadership experience across Australia, the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong, and has held senior roles in both public and private healthcare systems, including as Senior Manager (Patient Safety and Risk Management) of the HA, and as Chief Medical Officer at Australian public healthcare organisations. He is recently the Group Medical Director and Vice President of Medical Affairs of a private medical group, overseeing clinical governance, medical professional and academic governance across a multi-hospital network on the Chinese Mainland.
      
     Dr Ada Yu will be appointed as Head of Human Resources of the HA with effect from November 30, succeeding Mr David Mak upon his retirement. Dr Yu is a seasoned senior executive with solid experience in healthcare service management. She is a specialist in emergency medicine by background and has attained a fellowship qualification in Administrative Medicine of the Hong Kong College of Community Medicine. Dr Yu is currently the HCE of Bradbury Hospice, Cheshire Home, Sha Tin, and Sha Tin Hospital. Prior to the current position, Dr Yu served as the Chief Manager (Planning and Commissioning) of the New Territories East Cluster and played a key role in overseeing various major hospital projects.
      
     Dr Chris Tsang will be appointed as HCE of Yan Chai Hospital with effect from September 28. Dr Tsang is a specialist in critical care medicine by background. He is an experienced senior executive with top management experience at both head office and cluster levels. Dr Tsang is currently the Chief Manager (Integrated Clinical Services) of the HA. Prior to his current role, Dr Tsang was the HCE of Kowloon Hospital and Hong Kong Eye Hospital and the Chief Manager (Planning and Commissioning) of KWC.
      
      The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the Chief Executive, Dr Libby Lee, congratulate Dr Mah, Dr Yu and Dr Tsang on their new appointments and wish them every success in taking up the new roles. Mr Fan and Dr Lee also expressed deep appreciation to Mr Mak for his dedicated service over the years and wish him a happy retirement.
