Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Pat Heung today (September 23) in which a woman died.

     Police received a report at 8.31am that a heavy goods vehicle driven by a 55-year-old man was travelling along Kam Tin Road towards Kam Tin. When approaching Ko Po Road, it reportedly knocked down the 63-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing the road.

     Sustaining head injuries, the female pedestrian was rushed to Pok Oi Hospital in unconscious state and later transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital. She was certified dead at 1.39pm.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North are under way.
