The Leisure and Cultural Services Department is currently staging the Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival 2026 at Victoria Park. In view of the large number of visitors and enthusiastic response, the lantern displays will be extended by one week to October 4 for more members of the public and tourists to enjoy.
 
     The lantern-lighting hours in the park will also be extended until midnight from September 24 to 27.
 
     With "A Delightful Journey through the Lantern Garden" as its theme, the Mid-Autumn Lantern Carnival this year features lanterns of local delicacies, a corridor of heart-shaped arches featuring scenes of daily life in Hong Kong, as well as intangible cultural heritage paper-crafting lantern displays with scenes featuring rabbits embracing a giant moon, and more. This year's carnival also features "Shadowlight", a large-scale Qinhuai lantern from Nanjing presented by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, showcasing the beauty of traditional craftsmanship. Along with a Mid-Autumn creative market, fire dragon dances, traditional handicraft demonstrations, self-service lantern riddles, etc, the carnival brings everyone a joyful festival.
