15 building plans approved in July

Of the approved plans, seven were for apartment and apartment/commercial developments, five were for commercial developments, and three were for factory and industrial developments.
In the same month, consent was given for works to start on six building projects which, when completed, will provide 195 square metres of gross floor area for domestic use involving one unit, and 2 402 sq m of gross floor area for non-domestic use. The department has received notification of commencement of superstructure works for two building projects.
The department also issued 16 occupation permits, with three on Hong Kong Island, seven in Kowloon and six in the New Territories.
Of the buildings certified for occupation, the gross floor area for domestic use was 11 187 sq m involving 186 units, and 89 458 sq m was for non-domestic use.
The declared cost of new buildings completed in July totalled about $4.2 billion.
In addition, two demolition consents were issued.
The department received 3 314 reports about unauthorised building works (UBWs) in July and issued 607 removal orders on UBWs.
