The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:
 
     The Hospital Authority spokesperson made the following announcement today (September 16) regarding a report of unidentified gas at Princess Margaret Hospital:
      
     Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) received a report of unidentified gas at around 9am this morning. The affected areas are 12/F to 14/F in block G of the hospital. The floors affected are the working area of the Pathology Department, where no patient services nor treatment facilities are located.
      
     The hospital arranged for the working staff and visitors on the floors affected to leave immediately.
      
     Firemen and police subsequently arrived to handle the situation. PMH will work with the Fire Services Department to investigate the source of the unidentified gas. Emergency service at PMH is not affected.
