The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD)'s "Great Music 2026" will present the "Violin Recital by Renaud Capuçon" on October 11 (Sunday). The virtuoso French violinist will be accompanied by compatriot Guillaume Bellom on the piano to present the complete cycle of Brahms's violin sonatas, showcasing a refined musical dialogue between the violin and the piano that captures the profound romanticism inherent in Brahms's scores.

The recital programme is dedicated to the 19th-century Romantic composer Brahms and his three violin sonatas - from the radiant lyricism of "Violin Sonata No. 1 in G, Op. 78" (the "Rain Sonata"), to the serene transparency of "Violin Sonata No. 2 in A, Op. 100" (the "Meistersinger" Sonata), and culminating in the dramatic tension and virtuosity of "Violin Sonata No. 3 in D minor, Op. 108".

Capuçon is renowned as an exceptional soloist and chamber musician. He has collaborated with various internationally acclaimed orchestras, conductors and musicians, and has performed at prestigious international events such as the reopening ceremony of the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de Paris. Since 2021, he has served as the artistic director for the Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, while concurrently holding the position of artistic director for the Sommets Musicaux de Gstaad Festival, the Easter Festival in Aix-en-Provence and the Rencontres Musicales Festival in Évian.

Bellom won First Prize at the Épinal International Competition. An experienced soloist, he has performed with elite orchestras like the Orchestre National de France. His mastery of a vast repertoire has made him a highly sought-after chamber music partner.

"Violin Recital by Renaud Capuçon" will be staged at 8pm on October 11 (Sunday) at the Concert Hall of Hong Kong City Hall. Tickets priced at $280, $420, $550 and $680 are now available at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). For telephone bookings, please call 3166 1288.
