     The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (September 4) that the Financial Secretary, on the advice of the Governance Sub-Committee of the Exchange Fund Advisory Committee, has approved the appointment of Ms Mayanna To as the General Counsel, at the rank of Executive Director, with effect from February 12, 2027. 
      
     Ms To will succeed Ms Karen Kemp who will retire in February 2027. As the General Counsel, Ms To will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance in relation to all aspects of the HKMA's functions. 
      
     The Chief Executive of the HKMA, Mr Eddie Yue, said, "Karen has worked in the HKMA for over 30 years. She has been providing high quality legal advice on different aspects of work in the HKMA. I would like to thank Karen for her eminent service and her contributions to the HKMA's work over the years. My colleagues and I wish her all the best in a new chapter of life."
