Task force meeting on collaboration for planning and development of Hong Kong-Shenzhen control points held in Hong Kong (with photos)

     ​The Secretary for Security, Mr Tang Ping-keung, and Vice Mayor of the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government Mr Luo Huanghao cochaired a meeting of the task force on the collaboration for the planning and development of Hong Kong-Shenzhen control points in Hong Kong today (August 19) to continue taking forward relevant work in the planning and development of boundary control points (BCPs).

     Before the meeting, the Hong Kong and Shenzhen delegations conducted an on-site visit to the Huanggang Port Hong Kong Port Area to inspect the preparation work of the port, and conducted a discussion in the meeting. In addition, progress was reported at the meeting and views were exchanged on the redevelopment project of the Sha Tau Kok BCP.

     Mr Tang said that in light of the upcoming opening of the Huanggang Port, Hong Kong and Shenzhen sides are carrying out various forms of preparatory work at full steam, conducting testing and drills on different aspects, with a view to ensuring the port operates safely, efficiently, and smoothly after its opening, providing high-quality services to residents and travellers from both sides. Hong Kong and Shenzhen have always been co-operating closely on the development of BCPs, and will continue to maintain close communication and collaboration in the future to ensure that various tasks are completed on schedule and to a high standard.

     Other Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government officials attending the meeting included representatives from the Architectural Services Department, the Hong Kong Customs and Excise Department, the Immigration Department, the Hong Kong Police Force, the Department of Health, and the Government Property Agency.
