SWD urges public to be alert to fraudulent elderly health insurance advertisements
**********************************************************************************
The Social Welfare Department (SWD) today (August 4) alerted members of the public to fraudulent elderly health insurance advertisements on a social media platform.

The fraudulent advertisements falsely claim that the SWD has been providing health insurance subsidies to elders aged 50 or above since July this year. The SWD clarified that it has not provided such subsidies or placed the advertisements in question. The case has been reported to the Police.

Anyone who has clicked the unknown hyperlinks of the advertisements or provided his/her personal information to any suspicious website should contact the Police. For enquiries, please call the SWD's hotline at 2343 2255.
