Hospital Authority announces senior appointments (with photos)

The Hospital Authority (HA) spokesperson announced the following senior appointments today (July 30):
Dr Michael Wong will be appointed as Cluster Chief Executive (CCE) of Kowloon West Cluster and Hospital Chief Executive (HCE) of Princess Margaret Hospital and North Lantau Hospital with effect from January 4, 2027, succeeding Dr Alexander Law upon his retirement.
Dr Wong is a specialist in haematology and haematological oncology, and has also attained fellowship qualification of The Hong Kong College of Pathologists. He is a seasoned senior executive with solid experience in management roles at both cluster and the HA Head Office. Dr Wong has been the Director (Quality and Safety) in the HA Head Office since 2022. Dedicated to enhancing patient safety, Dr Wong leads a multidisciplinary team that oversees and responds to various clinical medical incidents, pushing forward the accreditation of public hospitals under the China's International Hospital Accreditation Standards (2021 Version), and dedicating himself to reducing waiting times for Specialist Outpatient Clinics. Prior to his current role, Dr Wong was the Chief Manager (Cluster Performance) in the HA Head Office and Chief Manager of Kowloon West Cluster.
Dr Flora Tsang will be appointed as HCE of Wong Chuk Hang Hospital with effect from August 1, in addition to her current appointment of HCE of Grantham Hospital and Tung Wah Hospital. Dr Tsang is a specialist in Cardio-thoracic Surgery and has attained fellowship qualification in Administrative Medicine of The Hong Kong College of Community Medicine.
Dr Lau Ka-hin will be appointed as HCE of St. John Hospital with effect from August 1, in addition to his current appointment of HCE of Cheshire Home, Chung Hom Kok, Ruttonjee and Tang Shiu Kin Hospitals and Tung Wah Eastern Hospital. Dr Lau is a specialist in psychiatry.
The HA Chairman, Mr Henry Fan, and the Chief Executive, Dr Libby Lee, congratulate Dr Wong, Dr Tsang and Dr Lau on their new appointments and wish them every success in taking up the new roles. Mr Fan and Dr Lee also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to Dr Law for his valuable contributions to the HA in the past years, and wish him happy retirement.
