Pok Oi Hospital appeals to public about missing patient

The following is issued on behalf of the Hospital Authority:

     The spokesperson for Pok Oi Hospital (POH) made the following appeal today (July 27) regarding a patient who left the hospital without notifying hospital staff:

     A 41-year-old male patient was sent by ambulance to the Accident and Emergency Department of POH this morning. After consultation and pending his admission, he left the Accident and Emergency Department without notifying hospital staff at around 1.30pm today. Security guards immediately conducted a search in the hospital and the vicinity but were unable to locate the patient. POH is very concerned about the incident, and immediately reported it to the Police. The hospital will co-operate with the Police on the search.

     The patient is about 1.75 metres tall, has a large body and short black hair. He was wearing a blue sports vest, dark-coloured shorts and light-coloured flip-flops when he left the hospital. The hospital appeals to members of the public to contact Yuen Long Police Station at 3661 4710 or call 999 if they know the whereabouts of the patient.

     POH has reported the case to the Hospital Authority Head Office via the Advance Incident Reporting System.
