EPD alerts public to fraudulent emails

     The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (July 23) appealed to members of the public to stay alert to fraudulent emails purporting to be sent by e-Procurement Programme Office under the email account of mira@michaelmike.com concerning an invitation to quotation issued by the EPD. A suspicious attachment is in the emails.

     The EPD clarified that it has not issued the above invitation for quotation, and the e-Procurement Programme Office confirmed that the emails were not sent by its office. Members of the public are reminded to note that the emails concerning the invitation to quotation/proposal issued by the e-Procurement Programme Office are sent from the email address "eppadmin@egismail.gov.hk". The EPD has reported the case to the Police.

      Members of the public are reminded not to open any suspicious emails. Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the email senders or clicked the link in the emails is advised to contact the Police.
