The Government today (July 10) announced that Professor Simon Wong Kit-lung had been reappointed as the Chairman of the Energy Advisory Committee, as well as 18 community figures appointed as members. The appointments are for a term of two years with effect from July 15, 2026.

     The Secretary for Environment and Ecology, Mr Tse Chin-wan, expressed his gratitude to the outgoing Deputy Chairman, Dr Conrad Wong Tin-cheung, and six outgoing members (Dr Gigi Au Yeung Chi-ting, Mr Keith Chan Chuk-hin, Mr Chui Tim-wai, Ms Donna Sit Tsz-shan, Ms Priscilla Wong Wai-yee and Ms Elsa Yuen May-yee) for their support and service in the past years; and welcomed the joining of the seven new members (Ms Suki Cheung Shuk-ming, Ms Linda Choy Siu-min, Ms Shirley Kwok Ho-yee, Ms Anna Mae Koo Mei-jong, Mr Li Kai-chi, Mr Arthur Mui and Mr Tang Ka-wing). Mr Tse said, under the eminent leadership of Professor Wong, the Committee has tendered sound advice to the Government on energy-related matters. He said he looks forward to continue working closely with the new term of the Committee, and exchanging views to devise effective strategies on such matters as energy supply and prices, promotion of zero-carbon and renewable energy, as well as energy efficiency and conservation.
 
     The Energy Advisory Committee advises the Government on energy policy, including policy matters concerning energy supply and demand, energy conservation and efficiency, and other related matters.
