***************************************************************

The open tender for the next tenancy for operating and managing the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal (KTCT) (Tender Reference: TC 1/2025) closed at noon today (June 26). The Government received a total of two tenders and has immediately commenced the work on tender assessment.

A spokesperson for the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau said, "We received positive responses from the market on the tender, which demonstrated that the trade has full confidence in the future development of the KTCT. The Government will conduct the assessment in accordance with the marking scheme set out in the tender documents, with the target of selecting the most suitable terminal operator by the end of this year to jointly enhance the facilities and appeal of the KTCT, and consolidate Hong Kong’s position as Asia's hub for international cruise."

The next tenancy for operating and managing the KTCT will take effect from June 2028. The Government has made two main adjustments in the new tenancy agreement, namely handing over the public space of the KTCT (including the podium gardens on the second floor and the KTCT Park at the rooftop) to the terminal operator for management and organising activities, as well as introducing Key Performance Indicators for the performance of the terminal operator, with a view to strengthening the monitoring and enhancing of the overall management level of the KTCT.
