The Government announced today (June 12) the reappointment of Professor Wong Man-sau as the Deputy Chairperson of the Council on Human Reproductive Technology, as well as the appointment of a new member and the reappointment of a serving member to the Council, with effect from June 16, 2026, for a term of three years.

     The newly appointed member is Professor Chow Ka-ming, and the reappointed serving member is Ms Ng Wing-wing.

     The Secretary for Health, Professor Lo Chung-mau, welcomed Professor Chow to the Council. He also expressed gratitude to the outgoing member, Professor Kelvin Wang Man-ping, for his invaluable contribution and unfailing support to the Council.
 
     Established in 2001 under the Human Reproductive Technology Ordinance, the Council on Human Reproductive Technology is tasked with regulating reproductive technology activities, including regulating the provision of reproductive technology procedures and embryo research, in Hong Kong through a licensing system, and formulating the Code of Practice for the relevant sectors.

     Formed under section 4(2) of the Ordinance, the Council consists of 26 members from a wide range of disciplines, including medical specialists, legal professionals, a social worker, religious personnel or scholars in theology/philosophy/ethics, psychiatrists or psychologists, sociologists, local community leaders and government representatives.
