AIDS hotline service to be temporarily suspended for system maintenance on Friday night

     The Department of Health (DH) announced today (June 11) that, the Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) hotline (2780 2211) service under the Special Preventive Programme of the Centre for Health Protection will be temporarily suspended for system upgrades and maintenance tomorrow (June 12) from 5.15pm to 11pm. During the suspension, the public may still book Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) antibody testing services or obtain relevant AIDS information through the following websites:
       The AIDS hotline is free and anonymous. Specially trained nurse counsellors answer enquiries regarding AIDS; perform risk and behavioural assessments; provide individual counselling and psychological support to those who are in need, and make appointments for those who request an HIV antibody test. Pre-recorded messages on AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Cantonese, English, Putonghua, Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, Hindi, Nepali, Urdu and Vietnamese can be heard through this 24 hours hotline.
