Brussels ETO continues support for seventh Barcelona International Dragon Boat Festival (with photos)
******************************************************************************************
The Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Brussels (Brussels ETO) once again supported the seventh Barcelona International Dragon Boat Festival, taking place from May 22 to 24 (Barcelona Time) in Castelldefels, Barcelona, in Spain.

Speaking at the award presentation ceremony on May 24, Deputy Representative of Brussels ETO Mr Kasper Ng remarked that dragon boat racing, which originated in China and has deep cultural roots, represents unity, courage, determination and resilience, values that closely reflect Hong Kong's "Lion Rock spirit".

Mr Ng mentioned that Hong Kong is a centre of major international sporting events, including the signature Hong Kong International Dragon Boat Races organised by the Hong Kong Tourism Board annually in June, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary this year on the iconic Victoria Harbour. He invited the participants and audience of the Festival to visit Hong Kong to experience the vibrant sports and cultural scene of Hong Kong.

One of Europe's leading dragon boat events, this year's Festival features 38 teams from 15 countries, with about 1 000 paddlers competing in 78 races, including 10 breast cancer survivors teams.
