Travel broadens students' horizons
**********************************

The Mainland study tour is a major component of Citizenship and Social Development, which is one of the core subjects for senior secondary students. A special school has organised tailor-made tours to ensure students are afforded the opportunity to witness the country's development firsthand. According to figures from the Education Bureau, participation by special schools is set to surge by nearly 70 per cent year on year for the 2025/26 academic year.

News.gov.hk spoke to representatives from the Hong Kong Red Cross John F. Kennedy Centre to learn about the aim and philosophy behind organising the study tours, while the students also shared their experiences of joining the tours.
