NEXT@Fashion InStyle exhibition and fashion parade sponsored by CCIDA held (with photos)

     Sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, NEXT@Fashion InStyle is being held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre for four consecutive days from April 27. Bringing together over 60 exhibitors from around the world, the event features the opportunities that diverse materials can bring to the fashion industry.

     As one of the programme highlights, the fashion parade was staged this evening (April 28) at the venue, with local designers presenting a variety of fashion outfits using innovative and new materials, demonstrating the unique qualities and potential applications of these materials while providing forward-looking design inspiration, thereby promoting sustainable development in the fashion industry.

     Speaking at the networking reception and fashion parade today, the Commissioner for Cultural and Creative Industries, Miss Drew Lai, remarked that CCIDA has been committed to driving the industrialisation of Hong Kong's design sector while strengthening the collaboration and connectivity with the global fashion ecosystem. NEXT@Fashion InStyle introduces innovative and new materials from around the world and fosters collaboration between material suppliers and fashion designers. By integrating these materials into fashion design and displaying the design with a physical showcase, the project highlights the prowess of local design talent and creativity and injects fresh momentum into the fashion industry.

     To further consolidate Hong Kong's status as a pivotal hub in the Asian and global fashion arena, the project has invited the Philippines as a featured partner this year, attracting over 25 Filipino new material suppliers to participate. In addition to the fashion parade, seminars are also held for industry stakeholders to exchange insights into innovative technology and prevailing trends in fashion design and materials, thereby fostering business opportunities.
