     On the announcement of the resignation of the President of City University of Hong Kong (CityU), Professor Freddy Boey Yin-chiang, the Chairman of the University Grants Committee (UGC), Mr Tim Lui, expressed respect for Professor Boey's personal decision and extended sincere gratitude for his contributions to Hong Kong's higher education over the years.

     Mr Lui said, "On behalf of the UGC, I would like to thank Professor Boey for his leadership in CityU's development over the past few years. I look forward to the university community upholding the spirit of innovation and continuing to contribute to the development of Hong Kong and the nation."
