Results of Film Production Grant Scheme for Promoting Chinese Culture announced

The assessment of the Film Production Grant Scheme for Promoting Chinese Culture (GSPCC) under the Film Development Fund (FDF) has been completed. Two selected film projects, namely, "Food is Heaven" and "Yin Yang Healers", will each receive a maximum of $10 million for their respective productions. The Chairman of the FDC, Dr Wilfred Wong, said, "Chinese culture has a long and rich history, providing a wealth of inspiration for filmmaking. The two selected film projects feature distinct themes, fully demonstrating the creative teams' deep understanding of traditional Chinese culture and their innovative storytelling of it. I look forward to these works manifesting the power of cinema to convey the charm, values and wisdom of Chinese culture to audiences around the world."
The Chief Executive's 2024 Policy Address announced the provision of financial support for the film industry under the FDF to produce films that promote Chinese culture, with a view to showcasing the fine elements of traditional Chinese culture to audiences.
