Draft Kwun Tong (North) Outline Zoning Plan approved

"The approved OZP provides a statutory land use planning framework to guide the development and redevelopment within the Kwun Tong (North) area," a spokesman for the Town Planning Board said today (April 10).
The planning scheme area, covering about 171 hectares, is located at the north-eastern edge of East Kowloon. It is bounded by the ridgeline of Tai Sheung Tok to the north and east, Lee On Road to the west, Shun On Road and Sau Mau Ping Road to the southwest and Tseung Kwan O Road to the south.
The approved OZP has incorporated amendments shown on the draft Kwun Tong (North) OZP No. S/K14N/16, which mainly involve rezoning a site to the east of Po Tat Estate from "Green Belt" and a site to the north of Po Lam Road from "Open Space" to "Other Specified Uses" annotated "Commercial/Residential Development cum Public Transport Facilities".
The Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP have been amended to reflect the above amendments. Opportunity is also taken to update the general information of various land use zonings and the planning circumstances, where appropriate.
The approved Kwun Tong (North) OZP No. S/K14N/17 is available for public inspection during office hours at (i) the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, (ii) Planning Enquiry Counters, (iii) the Kowloon District Planning Office, (iv) the Kwun Tong District Office, (v) the Sai Kung District Office, and (vi) the Hang Hau Rural Committee.
Copies of the approved OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centre in North Point. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed at the Town Planning Board's website (www.tpb.gov.hk).
