
Electoral Affairs Commission publishes Report on 2025 Legislative Council General Election

The Electoral Affairs Commission (EAC) today (March 31) published the Report on the 2025 Legislative Council General Election (LCGE).
The report describes how the EAC conducted and supervised the election and provides a detailed account of the related preparatory work and electoral arrangements. The EAC has summed up the experience, reviewed various electoral arrangements, and provided recommendations on the electoral arrangements for future elections.
"We are grateful to the EAC for ensuring that this election was smoothly conducted in an open, honest, fair, safe and orderly manner, and that various enhancement measures increased the operational efficiency of the election and made the election more user-friendly. We are also grateful to the EAC for reviewing the various electoral arrangements. We will continue to work closely with the EAC to follow up on the recommendations contained in the report," a Government spokesman said.
In accordance with the requirements of the Electoral Affairs Commission Ordinance (Cap. 541), the EAC submitted the Report on the 2025 LCGE to the Chief Executive on March 6, 2026. In line with past practice and in accordance with the principle of open and transparent elections, the EAC has made the report public. The report can be downloaded from the EAC website (www.eac.hk) and is available for viewing at the Registration and Electoral Office and the Home Affairs Enquiry Centres of District Offices.
