Draft Peng Chau Outline Zoning Plan approved

"The approved OZP provides a statutory land use planning framework to guide the development and redevelopment within the Peng Chau area," a spokesman for the Town Planning Board said today (March 27).
The planning scheme area, covering about 99 hectares, comprises Peng Chau and Tai Lei Island. It is located about 3 kilometres from Penny's Bay, 2km from Discovery Bay and 14km from Central on Hong Kong Island.
The approved OZP has incorporated the amendment shown on the draft Peng Chau OZP No. S/I-PC/13, which involves rezoning a site to the south of Wai Tsai Street from "Village Type Development" to "Residential (Group C) 5".
The Notes and Explanatory Statement of the OZP have been amended to reflect the above amendment. Opportunity is also taken to update the general information of various land use zones and the planning circumstances, where appropriate.
The approved Peng Chau OZP No. S/I-PC/14 is available for public inspection during office hours at (i) the Secretariat of the Town Planning Board, (ii) the Planning Enquiry Counters, (iii) the Sai Kung and Islands District Planning Office, (iv) the Islands District Office, and (v) the Peng Chau Rural Committee.
Copies of the approved OZP are available for sale at the Map Publications Centre in North Point. The electronic version of the OZP can be viewed on the Town Planning Board's website (www.tpb.gov.hk).
