The Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) today (March 25) urged the public to stop using two models of Super and JHE adaptors and contact the product suppliers, Golden Edge Group Limited and Japan Home Centre (H.K.) Limited, on matters of product returns and refunds.
 
     The two models of adaptors concerned are as follows:

     The EMSD's tests found that the above two models of adaptors do not comply with the relevant safety standard. The internal components of the adaptors may experience displacement after prolonged use, thus posing potential electrical shock hazards. The EMSD has liaised with the relevant suppliers regarding the test results for follow-up actions. According to the suppliers, manufacturing defects were found on the adaptors. The suppliers have therefore decided to arrange a recall with refunds for these products.
