
Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Tin Shui Wai yesterday (March 24), in which a man died.
At 10.15pm, Police received a report that a man was trapped between two goods vehicles.
Police officers sped to the scene. The 76-year-old man was rescued by firemen. Sustaining serious multiple injuries, he was rushed to Tin Shui Wai Hospital in unconscious state and was certified dead at 11.18pm on the same day.
Initial investigation revealed that the man drove a medium goods vehicle (MGV) to an open container carpark near Kau Lee Uk Tsuen on Tin Ha Road. As he alighted the MGV, the MGV started rolling forward and he attempted to return to the MGV to stop it. In the meantime, the MGV rammed into another MGV which parked beside. The man was trapped between the door of his MGV and the trailer of the other MGV.
Investigation by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories North is under way.
