Twenty-two convictions were recorded in February 2026 for breaches of legislation enforced by the Environmental Protection Department.

     One of the convictions was under the Air Pollution Control Ordinance, three were under the Noise Control Ordinance, nine were under the Public Cleansing and Prevention of Nuisances Regulation, one was under the Product Eco-responsibility Ordinance, six were under the Waste Disposal Ordinance and two were under the Water Pollution Control Ordinance.

     A company was fined $40,000, which was the heaviest fine in February for importing controlled waste without a permit.
