Saigon Street in Yau Ma Tei to be reinstated as one-way eastbound from March 22
***************************************************************

     The Government today (March 20) reminded the public that, following the commissioning of the Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei Section) and the reopening of the relevant section of Kansu Street, the section of Saigon Street between Canton Road and Ferry Street will be reinstated from one-way westbound to one-way eastbound from 6am, March 22 (Sunday). The following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented (see Annex):

  • All vehicles will be prohibited from making a left turn from Canton Road northbound onto Saigon Street, and from proceeding from Saigon Street westbound to the above section of Saigon Street;
  • Vehicles on Saigon Street westbound or Canton Road northbound heading to Ferry Street or Wai Ching Street shall return to the original route, i.e. via Canton Road northbound and Kansu Street westbound; and
  • Kowloon Green Minibus Route No. 3 will resume its original stop and the operator will display notices to inform passengers.

     Motorists should pay attention to traffic signs and drive with care when passing through the road sections concerned. The Government has distributed notices to the relevant District Council members and stakeholders on the above arrangements.

     Members of the public may visit the Highways Department's Central Kowloon Bypass (Yau Ma Tei Section) webpage (ckr-hyd.hk/traffic_diversion) or the Transport Department's website (www.td.gov.hk) for details.
