Pubic urged to heed traffic and transport arrangements before travelling tomorrow morning
***************************************************************
The Transport Department (TD) said tonight (March 19) that, due to the fatal accident in Kwai Chung, all lanes of Tai Wo Hau Road (both bounds) between Shek Tau Street and Sheung Kok Street remain closed. Motorists should opt for other roads. The public should heed the latest traffic and transport arrangements before travelling tomorrow morning (March 20), plan ahead their journeys and reserve sufficient travelling time.
Regarding public transport, KMB Route Nos. 32H, 33A, 34 and 43; Long Win Bus Route No. A32; and Citybus Route No. 930 travelling the road section concerned have been affected and diverted. The public should refer to the bus companies' website or mobile app for the latest information on their routes, and use railway services as far as possible. In addition, New Territories Green Minibus Route Nos. 89A, 89B, 89P and 313 have also been diverted.
A spokesman for the TD said that it has been closely monitoring the incident with departments concerned. Subject to the progress of the operation, the road traffic and public transport services, such as franchised buses, in the vicinity may be affected tomorrow. The public should heed the latest traffic and transport arrangements before travelling, plan ahead and reserve sufficient journey time.
The TD has been steering public transport operators to enhance services according to passenger demand. The TD's Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre is closely monitoring the traffic and public transport conditions in the district. The public should heed the latest traffic news through radio and television broadcasts, and the TD's website and HKeMobility mobile app.
