***************************************************************
A spokesman for Hong Kong Talent Engage (HKTE) today (March 17) said that the flagship events of the Global Talent Summit Week (GTS Week), the International Talent Forum and the CareerConnect Expo, will be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) for two consecutive days starting from tomorrow (March 18). From today through March 29, nine satellite events will also take place across the city, including regional conferences, recruitment fairs and corporate award ceremonies.
The GTS Week focuses on the integration of education, technology and talent, highlighting Hong Kong's role and advantages as an international talent hub and the country's gateway for talent. Under the theme "Connecting Global Minds", the Forum will examine future trends and strategies in the manpower landscape. 2010 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences Professor Christopher A Pissarides together with leaders from government, business and academia from Hong Kong and abroad, will deliver speeches, plenary talks and join panel discussions to exchange views on topics including talent strategies, innovative technology and the synergistic development between education and industry. Participation at the Forum will be by invitation only. The Forum will be webcast live on the GTS Week website (gts.hkengage.gov.hk).
In addition, the CareerConnect Expo will be held concurrently on both days. It features five thematic zones and brings together about 70 enterprises, education and technology institutions, and government departments to provide participants with the latest industry insights and diversified support services, showcasing opportunities in Hong Kong and other cities of the Greater Bay Area. An interactive networking zone will host industry leaders to share the latest developments on entrepreneurship, talent attraction and sectoral trends. The Expo will be held from 10am to 5.30pm at Hall 3F of the HKCEC with free admission.
During the GTS Week, HKTE will co‑organise nine satellite events with international, Chinese Mainland and local partners to deepen cross‑regional and cross‑sector collaboration. A co-operation agreement will also be signed with the Junior Chamber International Hong Kong, China to strengthen partnership in international promotion.
