LWB clarifies online rumours

The Labour and Welfare Bureau (LWB) today (March 5) noted that fake information is circulating online alleging that the Government would distribute half-price food vouchers to the elderly. An LWB spokesman clarified that such information is completely false.

The LWB has reported the matter to the relevant social media platform and reserves the right to pursue legal action.

The spokesman urged elderly persons not to trust any suspicious websites or believe unknown and misleading messages. Those who suspect that they have fallen victim to any fraudulent acts should contact the Police.
