Hongkong Post announced today (March 3) that, as advised by the postal administration of Qatar and airlines, airmail services to and via Qatar will be suspended with immediate effect due to air transportation disruptions. In addition, the postal administration of the Netherlands has announced that, in view of the current situation in the Middle East, it will suspend the transit of airmail items to certain Middle East destinations. Under these circumstances, Hongkong Post will suspend airmail services to the following destinations with immediate effect until further notice:
      
     Bahrain, Egypt, Ethiopia, Israel, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Lebanon, Maldives, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan and Qatar.
      
     Hongkong Post will continue to maintain close communication with the postal administrations concerned for resumption of services as soon as possible. Members of public may visit the Hongkong Post website for the latest information.
