The second edition of "MOTIFX" - Embracing the Beauty of Chinese Culture exhibition, sponsored by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) under the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau and organised by the Hong Kong Design Institute, was launched today (March 3) at Landmark, Central. The exhibition aims to showcase the traditional Chinese motifs through creative designs. The event runs from today until March 31 and is open to the public for free.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Commissioner for Cultural and Creative Industries, Miss Drew Lai, remarked that MOTIFX is a meaningful project that inspires the reinterpretation of traditional Chinese motifs in contemporary design. Sponsored by CCIDA for two consecutive editions, the programme serves as a platform to deepen the younger generation's appreciation of traditional culture. Through continuous nurturing of talent and promotion of cultural appreciation, Hong Kong will further consolidate its status as a global hub of design and creativity.
Themed "Culture to Nature - A Surreal Garden of Botanical Patterns", the second edition of MOTIFX brings together multiple local and international exhibitors and invites collaboration by young local designers from different fields. The exhibits encompass patterns, ceramics, digital art and furniture, demonstrating the creative diversity of the fusion of Chinese traditional elements and modernity.
